Kymeta Partners with Peplink to Provide Hybrid Connectivity
Formed in 2012, Kymeta was the first company to use metamaterials to develop satellite antennas that are robust, low-profile, and far more versatile than traditional dishes. Metamaterials enable the antenna to track the satellite without the need for moving parts, making it an ideal solution for on-the-move connectivity for vehicles and vessels. Their industry-leading products have become the go-to very small aperture terminal (VSAT) source for numerous defense, public safety, and government agencies.
Creating a New Service
Kymeta’s vision was to create an always-on mobile connectivity solution that is available globally yet affordable. Kymeta was looking for a technology to combine cellular links and VSAT to realize that vision.
Seamless Integration of Cellular
With years of experience making connections seamless, Peplink was the perfect match for this project. By integrating SpeedFusion technology, Kymeta was able to offer a service that combined VSAT with LTE enabling clients to use affordable LTE connections when coverage was available and then switch to VSAT otherwise. The hybrid solution gives clients access to the most cost effective connection at any given time.
In addition, Kymeta was able to make full use of the data generated by Peplink’s InControl central management system using InControl API. This enabled them to easily integrate InControl data into their management systems, providing their clients with fully scalable single-screen management.
A Continuing Partnership
By combining Kymeta and Peplink technology, together they have created an exceptional all-in-one package that was more than the sum of its parts. Armed with new capabilities, Kymeta continues to be a leading service provider in this space.
Peplink and Kymeta announce their partnership to bring reliable connectivity to mission-critical operations. With the use of SpeedFusion technology, the potential of combined satellite and cellular networks is unlocked. Learn more
